Jeep is getting several electrified additions in 2024.
The Recon and Wagoneer EVs are coming, while a Wagoneer 4xe plug-in hybrid joins the lineup next year as well.
The lineup will offer a diverse range of powertrain options.
Wagoneer S: The Wagoneer S EV is an upscale midsize entry with a design language that separates it from its larger three-row counterparts. Jeep is targeting a range of 400 miles and aims to have 600 hp and a 0-to-60 mph time of around 3.5 seconds. Production will start in 2024. It will be sold in major markets around the world, including Europe.
Recon: The electric Recon is an eco-friendly off-roader inspired by the Wrangler that will have removable doors and glass to offer open-air experiences. Production begins in 2024.
Gladiator: The midsize pickup is getting freshened this fall for the 2024 model year. Updates unveiled at last week’s Detroit auto show mirror the 2024 Wrangler, including the new grille and the inclusion of a 12.3-inch touchscreen.
When asked about the possibility of a Gladiator 4xe plug-in hybrid during the New York auto show in April, Jeep global CEO Christian Meunier said to “stay tuned.”
Wagoneer L/Grand Wagoneer L: Extended versions of the burly utility vehicles debuted in 2022.
Wagoneer/Grand Wagoneer: The premium SUVs arrived in 2021 to take on the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator.
Jeep said a plug-in hybrid Grand Wagoneer 4xe with a combined range of 500 miles will arrive in 2024. The next generation is not expected to arrive until the end of the decade.
Grand Cherokee L: The nameplate’s first three-row entry debuted in 2021 with a new architecture. A redesign could emerge in 2027.
Grand Cherokee: The Grand Cherokee was redesigned for the 2022 model year and gained a 4xe plug-in hybrid variant. The SUV could move to Stellantis’ STLA Large platform in 2027.
Wrangler: A new generation of the midsize off-roader isn’t expected until around 2028.
The 2024 model has a reworked grille and a bigger infotainment screen. Higher trim levels received power front seats — a first for the Wrangler — and quieter interiors as the brand focused more on creature comforts. The 4xe powertrain is now available on the Sport S trim for the first time.
Cherokee: Production in Illinois stopped in February, but a Cherokee redesign could arrive in 2025. It would move to the STLA Large platform, with production shifting to Mexico, according to AutoForecast Solutions.
Compass: The compact crossover was freshened for the 2022 model year with a more refined interior and the new Uconnect 5 infotainment system. The next generation could go into production in late 2025 as an EV on the STLA Medium platform.
Renegade: A redesigned Renegade subcompact crossover could be moved to the STLA Small or Medium platform for electrified vehicles in 2026.
